Simply Starting With Shyftr
Below you'll find instructions on how to use the most basic, and most utilized, parts of Shyftr: Your Profile, Your Friends, and Your Feeds.
Creating Your Profile
- Select the profile tab and select Edit Profile
- Fill in any details you’d like. Upload a picture or image of yourself as well.
- Underneath Lists, you can use the categories we’ve provided or simply erase them and type in a new category. Type in words for each List and select the Add button.
- Be SURE to select the Save Changes button at the bottom of the page when you’re finished!
Finding Friends

Search:
- Step 1: Type your friend's username in the search box at the top.
- Step 2: Select Members from the drop down list.
- Step 3: Select Search.
Add A Friend:
- Step 4: Find a member to add as a friend and select their name or icon.
- Step 5: Select Add to Friends from their profile page (next to their icon).
In addition, from anyone’s profile page, if you select the Friends tab (underneath their icon), you can view their friends and follow step 5 above to add them to your friends.
Adding Feeds to Your Profile


Most browsers provide RSS notification by displaying an RSS icon on the right side of the address bar. If you see either one, select the icon to pull up the RSS feed, then Shyft the feed using either of the following two methods:
- Copy (ctrl + c to copy) the URL (web address), select the green plus button
at the top of your feed list (profile page), paste the URL (ctrl + v to paste) into the input field, and select Save.

button to your browser toolbar.
To add a feed from a friend's feed list or from a guide:
- Step 1: Select a feed (a feed list appears on the right hand side of the profile page).
- Step 2: Select the green Shyft button at the top of the reader.
To perform a search for a feed:
- Step 1: Type the search into the search box and select Feeds from the dropdown list.
- Step 2: Select Search.
